Support Groups

Our support groups provide individuals an opportunity to discuss their feelings, fears and frustrations, as well as their successes – with others who truly understand what they are experiencing.
CANs’ support groups are open to anyone whose life has been touched by cancer, including patients currently receiving treatment, survivors, caregivers, and family members.
  • Non cancer specific meetings are free and held once per month.
  • Non cancer specific meetings are currently being held virtually via Zoom.
  • Breast cancer and Cancer Support Group for Men (both care takers and patients) support groups are being held in person and via Zoom.

English Support Group:

The English support group is currently being held via Zoom, on the 1st Wednesday of each month, 6:30-7:30PM  

Cancer Support Group for Men

Our Cancer Support Group for men (patients and care takers) meets in-person the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 6:30 PM, at the Cancer Alliance Network office.

Breast Cancer Support Group:

The breast cancer support group is currently being held in person on the 2nd and last Wednesday of every month from 6;30-7:30PM.  Please email admin@canceralliancenetwork.org for more details.

Scarlett Olivares, Support Group Facilitator

Scarlett Olivares, LMHC received her bachelor’s degree in clinical psychology from the Catholic University of Santo Domingo and her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Hodges University. Her specific approach enables her to help cancer survivors, patients, and their caregivers find a healthy balance between mind, body, and spirit. Scarlett has been providing high quality mental health services to the SWFL community for ten years. She provides a warm and empathetic environment to everyone.
Scarlett Olivares, LMHC recibió su licenciatura en psicología clínica de la Universidad Católica de Santo Domingo y su maestría en Consejería Clínica de Salud Mental de la Universidad Hodges. Su enfoque específico le permite ayudar a los sobrevivientes de cáncer, a los pacientes y a sus cuidadores a encontrar un equilibrio saludable entre mente, cuerpo y espíritu. Scarlett ha brindado servicios de salud mental de alta calidad a la comunidad SWFL durante diez años. Proporciona un ambiente cálido y empático para todos.
